American Vice Presidential Debate

Washington University : St Louis

Democratic Joe Biden and Republican Sarah Palin finally had that much anticipated Vice Presidential debate on a range of issues on the Economy. Foreign Affairs and Energy Policies . Moderated by PBS's Gwen Iffil , It was a very restrained restpectful exchange in which Palin gave an unscripted gutsy performance , albeith without much "Substance . It was a very polarised debate in which Biden factually focused on the whole issues of associating McCain / Palin with the failed Policies of George W Bush which has ultimately culminated in the biggest Economic Pearl Harbour , requiring a 'BAILOUT' by House Of Representatives and Congress . So , a vote for MCain is a Vote for and an extension of the Status quo .
Biden affirmed that the present Economic Crisis is caused mainly by 'DEREGULATION POLICIES which McCain believes in and supported .

For Palin it was a 2 - pronged mission of a damage limitation strategy to restore her diminishing public image which took a knock after her blundering humiliating television interviews with CBS Katie Couric - in which she incoherently was unable to answer foreign policy , Supreme Court Rulings questions ; and another was to justify her choice as Vice President with the Republican base who are now murmuring if she really was the right one for the job .

Palin desperately wanted to be judged on her own merits and accomplishments as a hockey mom , " Joe Six Pack", a bi - partisan deal maker as a Governor - calling herself and McCAIN a team of Mavericks who would not wave a" white flag of Surrender " in Iraq until the battle is done no matter how long it took . Joe Biden countered that there lay the marked difference between Obama and McCain ; for while Obama advocated for a structured time to hand over to the Iraqis to manage their own affairs , McCain is urging a ' timeless stay and more troops which are actually needed in Afghanistan where the terrorists are . Biden noted that Barak has continuously called for the halt of spending more than 6billion dollars a week in Iraq when Iraq itself is sitting on more than 97billion dollars of their own money . Biden also emotionally let Palin know that she did not have monopoly on being a hard working mum ;for he himself had been a lone dad who had single handedly brought up his sons after the loss of his wife in a car accident .

Palin again praised McCain's effort to help with the Bailout and urged voters to put the Maverick of the Senate in the White House to Reform Washington ; but Biden pointed out that McCain was part of the problem as his supportted deregulation caused the crisis in the 1st place .

On climate change , Palin did not believe in attributing " every activity of man to the changes of the climate , there is something to be said also for man's activities but also for the cyclical temperature changes on our planet " .
Biden said it was " man made "...." clearly man made "..." if you don't understand what the cause is , you cannot come up with a solution ."

Palin clearly disagreed with Obama's tax break Proposals to the Middle class in which anybody earning less than $250,000 would not be taxed a dime . McCain/Palin opposition to it is a typical Capitalist Laissez Faire attitude - Wall Street Keep all the millions you make ( well, every body ) and when you almost bankrupt the economy go to mainland Socialism to bail you out !

ALL IN ALL BOTH GAFFE -PRONED DEBATERS DID THEMSELVES PROUD . I HEARD NO GAFFES ON THE NIGHT . Palin's' Crash Intensive Course Paid off ' BUT SUFFICE TO SAY SARAH PALIN WAS NO MATCH FOR JOE BIDEN The question is : is it enough to halt Obama lead in the POLLS !
